Van Leeuwen Ice Cream Is Bringing Back Its Kraft Mac & Cheese Ice Cream, Along With 6 More Winter Flavors

Yes, it really is the perfect pairing.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is back at it with the zany flavors. Only this time, rather than bringing the world something new, it's bringing back an old (still wild) flavor.

The NYC-born ice cream brand has announced the return of its Kraft Mac & Cheese Ice Cream after a nearly year-and-a-half hiatus. It will be available from coast to coast starting on October 23.

"The wait is over – Mac (& Cheese) is back," Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. "Due to popular demand, we are bringing this iconic ice cream back to Walmart freezers nationwide."

In case you forgot, or didn't have a chance to taste test the flavor the first time, the company explained that the ice cream comes with the same buttery, slightly sweet flavor of the powdered cheese that comes in every box of Kraft.

"If this reminds you of the ice cream you grew up with, you might be out of your mind. If this reminds you of the comforting bowl of Kraft Mac & Cheese you grew up with, you're getting warmer. Because did we make this ice cream with that buttery, sweet iconic cheese? You bet," the company shared in its statement.

But that's not the only news Van Leeuwen is dropping. He added, "We are excited for its return and to be launching six other brand new flavors, including Dill Pickle and Peppermint Stick."

Joining Dill Pickle and Peppermint Stick is the brand's Caramel Sticky Bun flavor, which includes cinnamon brown sugar ice cream topped with swirls of caramel and cinnamon bun pieces. There's also Peanut Butter Fudge Pretzel, made with peanut butter ice cream, swirls of fudge, and pieces of praline pretzels; and Kettle Corn, made with butter ice cream and pieces of honeycomb. Finally, there's Holiday Cookies & Cream, comprising "red ice cream with dark chocolate cookies and a rich cream filling topped off with swirls of jolly green frosting."

All the brand's winter flavors will be available at Walmart stores nationwide for $4.98, but if you see one, you better snag it, as this limited release will only be available through December 26 or until sold out.
