Mark Prigg
Title: VP, Commerce
Education: University of the Arts, London

Mark Prigg is a VP on the Commerce team overseeing the Food and Travel verticals. He joined Dotdash Meredith in 2021.

Highlights:

  • Born in Caerphilly (unsurprisingly also home to his favorite cheese) Mark is a lifelong foodie who began his working life as a dishwasher, waiter, and terrible sommelier. Having grown up in Wales, he knows his bara brith from his cawl, and can make a mean toad in the hole.
  • He’s also one of the few on the food team with experience cooking for gorillas, having spent six months in Cameroon working in a primate sanctuary, helping look after (and feed) gorillas orphaned by the bushmeat trade.
  • A science and technology obsessive, he’s fascinated by the science of cooking, creating the perfect shot of espresso, and Neapolitan pizza. Despite having lived in the US for almost a decade, his go-to comfort food is beans on toast, and he has very strong opinions on how a cup of tea should be made.

Experience

Before joining Dotdash Meredith, Mark spent 25 years as a science and technology reporter and editor, working on newspapers including The Sunday Times, London Evening Standard and Daily Mail in London. He then moved to the US to work on Dailymail.com as their Science and Technology Editor, and has been in New York ever since.

Mark also worked at Red Ventures as an Editorial Director on their technology brands and has freelanced extensively for everyone from Wired and The Daily Telegraph to T3 and Business Traveller magazine.

Education

Mark attended the University of the Arts, London with a BA (Hons) in Journalism.
