Le Creuset is one of our favorite brands to shop for, and one pan we especially love to have in our kitchens is the brand’s Dutch oven. These pans are very versatile and are ideal for making hot comforting soups and stews, zesty spaghetti sauce, braising a leg of lamb, or browning and searing chicken thighs. Boasting the same signature features as our tested favorite, (which has a 7.25-quart capacity), this smaller 2.75-quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven is the ideal size for making smaller portions of your favorite fall recipes. The pan has two loop handles for easy maneuvering and lifting, and the lid fits tightly and has a stainless steel knob. A favorite of ours is Marseille, a gorgeous deep blue, but other colors discounted are flame, Caribbean, cerise, oyster, and sea salt. 

Our testers assessed the larger version of this Dutch oven and it hit our list as the best splurge pick. It performed well during our tests, where we rated each pan for how it handled making chicken and rice, from the browning of the thighs to their effectiveness at having food not sticking to the bottom. Le Creuset is known for its heirloom quality, and we were impressed by the durability, versatility, and overall caliber of the Dutch oven compared to the others evaluated. We also loved how effortless this pan was to clean after using it.
