I Can't Start My Day Without This Compact Keurig, and It’s on Sale at Target

Space is limited in my New York City apartment, and since counter space is even more of an anomaly, I’ve had to get strategic with storing and displaying my kitchen essentials. By strategic, though, I don’t mean tossing out the coffee maker and outsourcing to Starbucks. I tried that too, and it resulted in a pricey $5 a day cold brew habit I couldn’t afford.

Instead, I invested in one of Keurig's most compact models, the K-Iced Plus Single Serve Coffee Maker, which fits perfectly on my barely-there kitchen countertop. And while I’ve actually had several iterations of it since my relationship with caffeine first began (in high school, naturally), none were quite as versatile and reliable as the brand’s slimmed-down brewer.

The Keurig K-Iced Plus, which is currently on sale at Target for just $100, is nearly as small as the brand’s other mini models like the K-Slim, but it boasts additional features. Those include my personal favorite — brew over ice — which automatically adjusts the brew temperature so that it starts hotter to extract the best possible flavor but slowly cools down so your ice doesn’t melt before you’ve even had your first sip. 

It’s been such a game-changer for my morning caffeine routine, especially since I am such a fan of iced coffee that I’ll sip the chilly beverage even in the dead of winter. The Keurig K-Iced brews my coffee quickly and efficiently and produces a perfect cup every time. While you might be worried about the Keurig’s other functions, given the fact that it is only 5 inches wide, don’t. You have three cup sizes for each brew, 8-, 10-, and 12-ounces, and the 46-ounce removable reservoir holds enough water for up to five cups between refills. I also love its auto-off technology that saves energy by powering off just five minutes after my last brew. 

I’m not the only one sold on the smaller-scale model either. Shoppers said they were “in love” with the “quick and quiet” appliance, which has saved them from “spending money” at “coffee shops” instead. Other reviewers said the “convenience simply can’t be beat” and called it their “go-to coffee maker” even over pricier “espresso machines.”
