For the second consecutive year, Connaught Bar in London has been ranked number one in the world by The World's 50 Best Bars 2021.

The Cubist-inspired bar is led by Agostino Perrone, Giorgio Bargiani and Maura Milia, and is known for its personalized cocktails, martini trolley, and striking design. The second spot on the list went to Tayēr + Elementary, also in London.

The best bar in the United States, according to the ranking, is Katana Kitten. The New York City bar rose six spots to number ten, followed by American bars Dante at number 30 and Attaboy at number 34.

17 countries are featured on the 2021 list, with 18 new bar entries spread across Australia, India, Mexico, Russia, Argentina, Sweden, Spain, China, and the UAE. Singapore has more bars on the list than any other destination in the world, with six spots recognized.

"Connaught Bar, we salute you — to be named The World's Best Bar for two consecutive years is a feat that previously only two bars have achieved in the awards' 13-year history," said Mark Sansom, Content Editor for The World's 50 Best Bars, in a statement. "It's a testament to Ago Perrone and his team's continued pursuit of excellence, which is encapsulated in the way they have developed and modernised the martini cocktail."

America was also represented in the peer-voted Altos Bartenders' Bartender Award, which went to Lynnette Marrero of Llama Inn in Brooklyn, NY. Marrero is also the founder of LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails) and Speed Rack, a bartending competition that has raised over $1 million for breast cancer research.
